Fashion Fun Tartu! Intimissimi Silk Wears & Valentino Silver Slippers at Raekoja Plats in Midsummer Night’s Dream

Midsummer June 21-23

Tere jaanipäev Tartu! Designated as the European Capital of Culture in 2024, it is adventurous to visit during the midsummer season. We hit the Baltic Sea by ECKERÖ LINE arriving Tallinn at 11:15, discovering that the noon shuttle bus tickets completely sold out, after enjoying light lunch in the neighbourhood of traditional market, eventually reach Tartu approximately after 17:00.

Tartu the city is considered that derives from the word for aurochs, tarvas, archaeological evidence shows the first permanent settlement on the site of modern Tartu dating back to the 5th century. In medieval times, after the Livonian Order was subsumed into the Teutonic Knights in 1236, the city became an important trading site joined the Hanseatic League in 1280s.

In the effect of the 1629 Truce of Altmark, Tartu became part of the Dominions of Sweden, which led to the foundation of the University of Tartu in 1632 by King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, until the city was taken by the Russian army in the presence of Tsar Peter the Great himself in 1704.

During the late 19th century, Tartu was the cultural centre for Estonians in the era of Romantic nationalism. Since Estonia regained its independence in 1991, the old town centre and notably, St. John's Church, have been renovated, housing University of Tartu, Supreme Court of Estonia, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Estonian National Museum, Tartu now is regarded the ‘intellectual capital city’ of Estonia.

Strolling at Old Town Hall and Raekoja Plats after checking-in at HOTEL DORPAT, the outfits of the day in midsummer night are the 100% silk pants and camisole in ivory white from INTIMISSIMI, which, their natural sheen contrasts my skin tone and the pastel colours of Tartu Linnavalitsus, the natural fiber regulates temperature, making it breathable during the daytime and comfortable at night.

As for accessories, silver slippers from VALENTINO calfskin leather slippers in silver tone matches all outfits of summer, especially V-SLING logo completes the soft and flowy silhouette in cute detail. The pebble stone pavements in Tartu old town warns the possible slippery, still the open comfy touch of midsummer night city walk is still very pleasant.

Always love CHANEL 2019 Cruise Collection Sac de Silver Seaside Villa, its calfskin tender leather allows IPHONE and 2 mini pochettes without the cause the disfiguring shape of le sac, and shining lining pipelines prevent the unpredictable clashes while moving around. In case of the rather chilly breeze blown from the Emajõgi riverside, CHANEL 2017 AW 100% wool open cardigan with embroidery logos on the 2 side pockets, acts as my best traveling must on the road.

TOP TIP 1 Ivory white tone of the silk wears contrast the crimson red nail polish and lip colours, considered the best combination during day and night

TOP TIP 2 Always bring a light wool cardigan while traveling the summertime in the Baltic regions

Special Thanks: Wendy
