As being the most populous inland city in the Nordic countries, Tampere the industrial city of Finland is derived from the Tammerkoski rapids, which ‘Tëmpël’ meaning ‘deep, slow section’ and ‘koski’ referring ‘stream’. The earliest known permanent settlements alongside of Tammerkoski were established in 7th century. Built by King Gustav III of Sweden in 1775, around 150 years later, Tampere had become Finland’s most important industrial center, concentrated almost half of the country’s industry, known as ‘Manchester of the North’, where telecommunication NOKIA Cooperation is at the west part of the suburb region.
