Fashion FunH Black Friday! When Chloé Meets Mango in Hakaniemi Market Hall

13 May 2016 at Hakaniemi, Finland

Indeed May in 2016 is much warmer according to the climate record. Yet working and studying in Helsinki the Harbour city, when the chilly wind blows, the safer and stylish way to keep trendy is putting on linen, silk, cotton and leather with the layering wearing strategy.

Collecting cotton or linen short top every summer is my purchase routine, and it doesn’t have to be from the designer’s brand. At Zara, Mango or Top Shop these high street groups offer good quality and cute design, and of course the friendly price. At Mango I hunt this nude pink top, Made in Morocco, 84% viscose, 16% linen, and the black stripe is 100% cotton. Due to the climate changes, recently the production of cotton agriculture is decreasing in Egypt and India, hence, it is the reason that cotton/denim pieces are rather rare or costly nowadays. Viscose is both a semi-synthetic fiber, formerly called rayon, it is structurally similar to cotton but may be produced from a variety of plants such as soy, bamboo and sugar cane. With the slight percentage of linen, this cute mango piece provides me a cooler and better choice.

Chloé 100% silk-crepe blouse is the must-have investment while it is on sale (60% off from theoutnet.com). Made in Italy, the pinkish buttons are embossed with ‘Cholé’, plus the buttoned slit cuffs, side slits, and longer back hem makes this simple soft pink a more detailed design. Though the length of sleeves are a bit too long for my size, still the soft touch of the blouse can be worn as a mid-length robe, or tuck in the skirt or jeans as a casual city look.

In order to prevent the possible scratches of the fragile Cholé silk-crepe blouse, I would add up GUESS? denim mini jacket. Its light blue hue brightens up the black outlook, since I wear Zara lamb jacket (again, it’s Top 1 item in my wardrobe), American Apparel high-waist leggings and YSL espadrilles. For accessories I go for the pinky tones: Stella McCartney acetate neutral sunglasses, Vivienne Westwood crystal orb earrings and See by Chloé leather sac. Taking the photos in front of the Red House (the indoor traditional market) in Hakaniemi, specials thanks to my Beijing colleague, Lady Panda, that the picture capture of Black Friday Look is not bleak at all, but full of fun and very natural.

Special Thanks: Lady Panda
