Fashion Fun Avec Mucha! Cheerio Czech: Maison Martin Margiela Walks in Museum Mucha

May 22-28, 2016 Prague, Czech Republic

When the raining days strike, the efficient way to explore the city is visiting the museum. One of my travelling goals is to discover National Gallery/Fine Art Museum around the globe, and contemporary artist foundation is also on my must-to-do list.

Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist, known best for his distinct style. The Art Nouveau style and highly commercial criticism, however, were that Mucha attempted to disassociate himself from throughout his life; he always insisted that rather than maintaining any fashionable stylistic form, his paintings were entirely a product of himself and Czech. He declared that art existed only to communicate a spiritual message, and nothing more.

Mucha’s son, author Jiří Mucha, devoted much of his life to bringing attention to his father’s artworks. In 1998, Mucha Museum supported by Mucha Foundation in partnership with COPA sro, opened in Prague, managed by Mucha’s grandson John Mucha. The museum building is just next to our hotel room, so in a rainy morning, I wear my clean-cut casual style and expect to indulge a world of beauty.

Museum safari style is Filippa K 95% organic cotton and 5% elastane stripe top, Gina Tricot 100% polyester sporty leggings and Maison Martin Margiela 100% leather cutout ankle boots. Founded in 1988, Paris, Maison Martin Margiela sets the standard for contemporary design with its deconstructed tailoring and sculpted silhouettes. Blurring the boundaries between fashion and art, the ankle boots has flat heels and comfortable calfskin to walk over 2 hours in the museum.

As accessories, I am wearing peachy pink Stella McCartney sunglasses and carrying Miu Miu Madras camera pochette. Due to the hotel room is just 40 meters away, in my Miu Miu bag equipped with my iPhone 5C, credit cards, cash and my personal ID are essential enough for the museum trip. My colour palette of style to Mucha Museum is containing ivory white, inky black, peachy pink and a touch of plum purple, oh, indeed, from the multicolour of Chanel nail polish Le Vernis!
