While a large amount of fashion houses
reveal their designs are mere a copy, Coco Chanel excludes herself from the
struggling. Besides Chanel double C interlocking piercing earrings, I am also
very fond of Chanel small leather goods, especially caviar leather, indeed is a
bit bumpy to touch in comparison with lambskin leather, but I find it
incredibly lovely and can handle a bit of abuse. Unless Trypophobia bothers
around, Chanel caviar doesn’t discount its popularity in any way.
My first Chanel small leather good
collection is AW16 quilted caviar cardholder, which the size 11.2 Length, 7.5
width and 0.2 height (cm), is containing 4 slots, approximately holding maximum
6 cards/coupons. ‘Made in Italy’, where the silver font carved opposite to
CHANEL logo inside of the edge of the major leather piece, the whole cardholder
is manufactured within solo calfskin. On the surface of this grainy leather cardholder,
embossed quilted and at the centre the symbol of Coco Chanel. The interior
lining is mainly black polyester as compartment.
Originally caviar calfskin is heavier than
lambskin, but more resilient of and not easily succumb to scratching. The
quality of tough leather can withstand the element is also my preference to
choose caviar as my first Chanel small leather goods collection.
Always the packaging of Chanel is a work of
art. The small leather good collection adopts the mini-medium black polished
paper shopping bag, a CHANEL larger camellia flower attaches on, and together
with 100% cotton Chanel white ribbon ties the cotton handle in bond. The gift
box is made with strong carbon paper, size 17 length, width 10 and height 5
(cm). After unknot the second ribbon, a non-closure black velvet cover felt
pouch, 100% black cotton lining, is protecting this delicate quilted caviar
cardholder. Unpack and check, at the central compartment of the caviar
cardholder, a carte authenticity stays still. At the bottom of the gift box, a
set of care instruction, totally in 12 languages, is packed inside of an
off-white paper holder, with ‘Chanel’ and ‘petite maroquinerie’ on the cover.
The purchase receipt holder is as the same material as the care instruction,
but embossed with a camellia and Chanel logo, for sure the design of the
sticker is minimal and elegant as well.
Enjoying the layers of the surprise is one
of the greatest joys shopping at Chanel. One of the friendly staff, Milla, even
secretly places one more ivory white camellia in the shopping bag while
wrapping the packaging. Now this extra art craft decorates the lid of the gift
box, constantly reminds me of the happy hour at boutique. This is life of
luxury for.
